The Volunteer firefighters of Kawartha Lakes are now proud members of  CLAC local 920 which encompases approximately 1200 volunteer firefighters in the province of Ontario. We join our fellow Firrefighters from Sudbury, Clarence-Rockland, Belleville, Quinte West. Preceeding us with CLAC also local 911 Hamilton.

The City of Kawartha Lakes has its first volunteer firefighters’ union contract after they voted in favour of accepting the City’s offer late Thursday night (Jan. 22). The vote, however, was hardly unanimous.


Ian DeWaard of the Christian Labour Association of Canada (CLAC) said 170 votes were cast and 94 were in favour.
